MBTI®
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) is the world’s most widely used tool for understanding normal, healthy personality differences. It explains basic patterns in how people prefer to take in information, make decisions and orient one’s life. Understanding one’s own preferences is affirming and provides insight for personal growth. Appreciating and respecting the different preferences of others leads to improved communication and the understanding to reduce conflict.

TKI
The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) describes 5 ways in which a person may respond in a conflict situation, i.e., a situation in which the concerns of 2 people appear to be incompatible. The 5 conflict-handling modes are: Competing, Collaborating, Compromising, Avoiding, and Accommodating. The self-report assessment identifies one’s preferred mode(s). The follow-up interpretation serves to increase one’s knowledge and confidence with all 5 modes so that one may respond appropriately and effectively to conflict in a variety of situations.
